Dilip Kumar and Pakistan

Nazim Jiva was from Karachi. In the ’70s, when thalassemia was on the rise in Pakistan, Jiva started an NGO called Fatmeed Foundation and started collecting blood for children suffering from thalassemia. The foundation gradually spread. He used to go to India for business. He was in touch with the late Dilip Kumar. He met Dilip Sahib in Mumbai in 1987 and invited him to inaugurate the Fatmeed Center in Peshawar. Dilip Sahib agreed and this April He visited Pakistan for the first time in 1988. Mian Nawaz Sharif was the Chief Minister of Punjab at that time. Both Mian Sharif and Nawaz Sharif met Dilip Sahib and thus the Sharif family got in touch with Dilip Sahib.

Dilip Sahib came to Pakistan for the second time in 1992 to raise funds for Shaukat Khanum Hospital. Mian Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister. The relationship deepened during the visit. The two started calling each other and sending cards and letters. This contact became a link between the two countries in 1998. India on May 11, 1998, and Pakistan on May 28, 1998. The two countries became nuclear powers and Mian Nawaz Sharif went to London after the bombings. Dilip Kumar came to London to meet him. The Sharif family invited him to dinner at their house. Begum Kulsoom shook his hand. He cooked food and presented it to Dilip Sahib. Dilip Kumar was very fond of food. He ate very good food and enjoyed it very much. Dilip Sahib openly praised the food and then said to Nawaz Sharif.”I do not know marginalization so I speak openly. I have been sent to you by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. India wants to talk with Pakistan on all issues including Kashmir. Vajpayee wants us to end all our differences.” Mian Nawaz Sharif thanked Dilip Sahib and said, “We are both nuclear powers now. If we do not find a peaceful solution to our differences, there will be a nuclear war in the subcontinent.” You start the dialogue. We open the door for you. Dilip Kumar left happily. Niaz nominated Naik and dialogue started between the two. Pakistan meanwhile announced to give a distinction to Dilip Kumar.Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to Lahore on a bus on February 20, 1999, as a result of Dilip Kumar’s inauguration. Standing under the Minar Pakistan and supporting the ideology of Pakistan. And laid the foundation for new relations in the region but unfortunately two and a half months after the start of a dialogue, the Kargil incident took place and war broke out between Pakistan and India. He said in an angry tone, “Mainji (Vajpayee always called Nawaz Sharif Mianji) I came to you with an open heart but you stabbed me in the back.” Vajpayee then said, “I have a friend of yours sitting next to me. You can talk to him too.” And a few seconds later, Dilip Kumar on the other side The voice came and he said, “Mian Sahib, whenever you make a decision about India, you must think about it. There are 200 million Muslims living here and these poor Indian Muslims suffer the consequences of your mistakes.” He assured Kumar and Vajpayee, “I am not aware of the Kargil operation. I will find out the situation and contact you.” Vajpayee believed them and said, “My servant will meet you in Lahore and you Two days after the phone call, Brijesh Mishra met Mian Sharif in Raiwind and gave him a tape. In the tape, Army Chief General Pervez Musharraf and Chief of General Staff General Aziz had a conversation. General Musharraf had called China and asked, “The Prime Minister has not found out about Kargil yet.” However, the story was short. Kargil was declared. There was a secret aspect of Kumar’s life I want this diplomatic aspect of his personality to be registered on his death. Now we come to his personality. He was really a natural actor. There was no difference between the screen and his public life. I found him very polite, down-to-earth, elegant, and intelligent. He knew six or seven languages. Pashto was his mother tongue. He spoke Hindko fluently. He spoke in a Punjabi accent. He knew the words Chol and Mahathir. His Urdu was very polite and fluent while he could speak English in Shakespeare’s style. Dilip Sahib did not express surprise during the conversation. Tell me anything. Tell me anything. He didn’t say hi or ‘hey’. He listened to the biggest thing as normal. You tell him any joke. Should he laugh at this joke? Dilip Sahib used to decide to tell jokes. Not going, stubborn during the recording of Mughal Azam, Asif, the famous director of India and producer of Mughal Azam, used to visit his house. He was also a friend of Dilip Sahib. Contact was made and he ran away from home and married Asif. Dilip Sahib loved his sister Akhtar very much but he never met his sister after that. Madhubala was the most beautiful heroine of Hindi cinema. He was also in love with another. He got angry over a small matter and Dilip Sahib never looked back. He was also a very responsible person. He raised his eleven siblings and supported them all his life. His father was a fruit merchant. He also ran a fruit business himself. He started his career as a serving boy in the mess of the Indian Air Force. All his life he was fond of cutting and decorating fruits.Raj Kapoor’s father Prithviraj Raj was his family friend from Peshawar. He came and it was very difficult. The father saw Dilip Sahib’s film one day. Nargis was a heroine in the film. When he came back at night, the father said to him, “Take me to Nargis’s house.” I want to marry her. Dilip Sahib stopped her with great difficulty. My father used to eat Peshawari food. He used to take her to Peshawari restaurants and feed her with his own hands. There were differences between the family and Saira Bano. Saira did not want to live with her family. Dilip Sahib built a new house and shifted to it with Saira Bano. You see her elegance. I didn’t move, it was I who had a very close relationship with Vajpayee. When the US wanted to start a dialogue between India and Pakistan in 2001, Vajpayee consulted Dilip Kumar and sent a special envoy to Nawaz Sharif in Jeddah. “We have been offered a dialogue by General Pervez Musharraf. If you allow us, we can start the process,” was Nawaz Sharif’s reply. “Relations between countries are more than personalities. “Look at the style of both of you. Dilip Sahib was blessed by Allah Almighty with his immense acting ability.” You can cry and laugh the other eye. The kind person I went to meet him with. He got up and asked Dilip Sahib, “Khan Sahib, this boy wants to see the magic of your eyes.” DilipSahib felt bad about this order but still, he put his hand on half of his face to look at us and started looking at us. After a few seconds, tears started flowing in his naked eye. He was the saddest eye in the world at that time. He raised his hand with the other eye at the same time. That eye was laughing. Our upper breath remained above and below. These were Dilip Kumar, the world’s one and only, Dilip Kumar, Dilip Sahib was one of the few people in the world whose departure made space feel empty and will continue to do so.Dilip Kumar was one of the few people in the world. Dilip Kumar was one of the few people in the world whose departure made the space feel empty and he will always do so. ۔Dilip Kumar was one of the few people in the world.
